How To Use an ATM Machine

ATM Machines

If you are a business owner, when your customers need cash - where do you think they get it? If you have an ATM machine in your business, the chances are very good that they get it from your ATM. And, they probably spend some of that cash inside your business while they're there, don't they? Oh, and how do you like earning that surcharge revenue every time someone withdraws cash? I thought so.

But what if you don't have an ATM machine?
If you don't have an ATM machine in your business, there's a good chance that many of your "would be" customers decided not to go into your business because you don't have an ATM. This is because most people that use ATM machines tend to get cash when they are doing other things like shopping, getting gas, etc. And since you don't have an ATM machine in your business, there are probably a number of customers that have decided to go to one of your competitors instead.
But look on the bright side - it's not like you aren't getting any customers, right?
Let's say you own a bar or nightclub. If you don't have an ATM machine, you have two choices for accepting payment from customers: One - customers pay you in cash or, two - you have to let them run a tab.
Let's talk about running credit card tabs first. It has become an accepted practice for patrons to run tabs to pay for drinks. But this costs you money because you have to pay the processing fees on their purchases. And, if your bartenders are required to cash people out, you lose money because in the time it took them to run a credit card they probably could have poured 15-20 more drinks.
Accepting cash from customers is a great idea! But what happens when they run out of money? Let's face it - lots of people run out of money when they are having a good time. If you do not have a way for them to get more cash they will leave. They may have good intentions of getting cash and then coming back, but typically once they leave - they're gone for the night.
Introducing...the 3-in-1 Profit Center!
By having an ATM machine, you can enjoy these benefits:
Increased customer traffic
Nearly 80% of all banking is done through privately-owned ATMs. People do not go to banks and stand in line the way they once did to get cash. Customers who need cash will look for your ATM sign and come into your business.

Increased sales
Now that more customers are coming to your store to use your ATM, many of them will spend some of the cash they withdraw in your business. According to a recent 7-11 study, ATM users spend an average of 25 percent more than non-ATM users.

Reduced credit-card fees
More of your customers will withdraw money from your ATM and pay you with cash instead of a credit card. By increasing the number of cash transactions and reducing the number of credit-card transactions you have every month, you will pay less in processing fees. Most customers reduce their monthly credit-card processing fees by an average of 30 percent.

Earn Surcharge revenue
Every time a customer uses your ATM, you receive a transaction fee, or "surcharge" that you get to set. The average ATM Network customer earns around $400 a month this way, and some higher-traffic locations earn thousands.
